Old secrets, new truths…
It is the aftermath of battle. Scattered and struggling to regroup, Colonel Sheppard’s team face their darkest days yet in the war against the Wraith Queen, Death.
Continuing her perilous masquerade as Queen Steelflower, Teyla Emmagan’s friendship with Guide grows stronger.
With his help she must journey into the Wraith’s distant past to uncover the shocking truth about their origin – and the key to Queen Death’s defeat.
Meanwhile, Rodney McKay has a different battle to fight as he struggles to regain his humanity in the face of the atrocity the Wraith have committed against him.
With his life hanging in the balance, will Rodney be forced to do the unthinkable in order to survive…?
SECRETS
“IS COLONEL Sheppard with you?”
“No.” Sam wondered if she looked as perplexed as she sounded.
“He’s not back?”
“No.” Woolsey’s face was drawn. “We haven’t heard a word from any of the team. Nothing.” His voice sharpened. “I thought they were to return with you.”
Sam shook her head. “That was the original plan, but we had trouble getting in close enough to beam them out. I had a radio message from Sheppard that indicated they had been beamed aboard Todd’s hive ship. I thought they’d be back by now.”
“No,” Woolsey said. “We don’t know anything.”
Sam blew out a breath. If Todd were holding them prisoner they’d be getting demands any time now. But that was less likely, given that Teyla was still masquerading as his queen. “It’s possible that the hive ship also took some battle damage,” she said. “That may be more of a priority than getting to a gate and reporting in.”
A twitch of Woolsey’s eyebrows showed what he thought of Sheppard’s enthusiasm for immediately reaching a gate and reporting in. “Did they recover Dr. McKay?”
“I don’t know,” Sam said. “There was a lot of interference on the radio. Sheppard said they were aboard Todd’s ship, but I don’t know if they had McKay with them or not.” She shook her head. “If not, he’s dead. Queen Death’s hive ship exploded. There would have been no survivors…”

This series of books continues the star Gate Atlantis seamlessly for those fans who deeply mourn the end of the series on television this is a bomb without priceMy only regret is that this series are not available on Audible yet who’s ever in charge of that please rectify that is quickly as possible I know there was a short run of Stargate SG1 and star Gate Atlantis audiobooks that was sold but they were not on Audible that I can find or anywhere else as digital content I hope that changes soon.
Until then please keep writing more books in the series and and I will keep buying them.
I love this series of Science fiction dramas because it holds up a proud tradition of hope for science fiction saying that tomorrow will be better even though sometimes the road will be hard it’s worth it in the end .
The star gate Syfy universe which universities you prefer does this better than almost any other Series that I can think of even start track because I think in many ways it does it in a more realistic manner based on human nature people are people and while I certainly hope that as a society we can all become better people and make a collective difference like in Star Trek sometime in the future the star Gate universe takes us as a people as we are and shows the dedicated individuals can make it tremendous difference even if we cannot trust yet that are society as a whole can make universal and collective choices to benefit humanity that only increases our personal responsibility to force the world to be a better place

STARGATE ATLANTIS Secrets Book 5 in the Legacy series Stargate Atlantis Legacy series eBook Melissa Scott Jo Graham Reviews
Could not put it down! The series has been exciting from the beginning and the characters are just as interesting as they were in the TV version.
Melissa Scott does a great job of writing here. I particularly liked how she chose not to resolve the McKay issue like this were a one hour episode, instead choosing to keep the consequences ongoing.
The characters are spot on, as usual, and seeing behind the scenes into the Wraith has been fascinating. There was not a huge amount of action as all the pieces are aligning for the big finale. I am hoping that this book is the equivalent to the moment in an episode where it looks like they may not be able to survive but by the end they somehow do. Everyone is being pushed to their limits and Rodney's stuff has just been heartbreaking. There was a kind of bittersweet quality to story and I am hoping that is not setting us up for the death of some of the characters. I know not everyone survives in Stargate, but I really hope it doesn't come to that. There are some intriguing possibilities that may or may not develop depending if I read the "hints" right. I am waiting both hopefully and nervously for the final book, but one way or another this series has been filling the SGA void in my life.
What I can avoid this trilogy that would say I. Previous it great book and love if I would recommend to every one who loved sci fy
The character development in this series is excellent. I love the fact that some of the minor characters from the series are getting more attention. We also get to see what's happening inside the heads and hearts of the lead characters, and indeed all the characters. This series is fantastic, with a fascinating plot - as usual, I can't wait for the next book in the series.
This series is very hot and cold. Sometimes I find myself completely immersed in what's going on and then sometimes I'm like what? For one I sometimes wonder if she has actually watched the show vs listening in on it and have watched parts of SG-1 and why? She seemed to have not been up to date on where the humans were technologically when she started this series and has tried to keep going. I find it very puzzling that the humans have been getting their butts kicked in just about all space conflicts and have yet to use the Asgard beam. I understand it's a close range weapon but they had no problem using it in the show.
I like where she is going with the plot but I really feel like there should have been a focus on finding three full ZPM's and organizing an alliance with those scavengers from the show. And my last gripe is that Earth has had a stargate program for over 20 years and lack of resources is the reason ships can't be built? You can travel to other planets in seconds and you don't have resources to build ships......Maybe it's just me but you would think there would be a military resource extraction considering they are in a war with aliens who literally have made it a goal to get to earth and suck the life out of humans.
I am really enjoying this series! Each book is like watching the show again. The authors are really good about keeping true to the feel of the show and established characters while also further developing some of the secondary characters as well as new ones of their own. Usually I don't enjoy it when authors stray away from the well-loved characters we know to explore ones I've never heard of before, but they handle it pretty well here and use them to expand the story and points of view we don't always see.
The whole 8 book Legacy series has an interesting story arc. Each is well paced. I especially enjoyed this book as it delves further into the Wraith history, personalities, and culture which was only slightly touched upon in the show.
The only criticism I have is that in at least the version of the books, is that there is nothing to distinguish the scene changes in the books until the next book, Book 6 Inheritors when bold letters are added to the first letter of a new scene. So it is a little jarring to be reading and all of the sudden the next paragraph will be a totally different scene and characters. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of.
